the BEST Southland character. Not written for enough. should have been the MAIN character & this thing never would have been canceled.
shareI loved Chickie too - a vulnerable woman who was also a tough cop, but not tough in the "Superman" mode of some of her colleagues. You admired her tougness and tenacity but you also worried for her. It was incredibly frustrating that she was so underused. I don't think there's a single character I dislike, and I know he was central, but maybe a little less Ben and a little more Chickie. And writing her out was inexplicable.

Yeah, you're right, I suppose I was thinking of police characters they might have given less screen time to to make way for Chickie. Tammy seems to have caused quite a stir though, so I suppose she did her job!

Chickie was awesome and I was sad to see her written off. She had a lot of backstory I would have liked to see fleshed out
I lost a lot of interest when she disappeared.

Having just watched S2 DVD, I couldn't believe how excited I got when she caught that rapist posing as a cop. I was cheering! The momentum building up to that, her struggles with Cooper's remarks not being a good enough cop, this was so intense. She had class and kept her cool most of the time. Other characters disappeared but replaced by others just as good.

And i hated how they changed her character back and forth. at the start she was tough as nails, than after she was done babysitting Dewey she saved that fat sluggish cop's ass, just to become a whiney little pussy when Coop gave her *beep* about how bad of a cop she is. Later she catches that rapist somewhere up Mulholland (Cornell?)-
Start of season three she seems back to her old self just to disappear shortly after... seriously WTF?
She'd been a great character and i loved how Arja Bareikis portrayed her. They totally wasted her.
