If ever a series deserved a TV movie wrap-up...

... it's Southland.

Fantastic show but the finale was too open and brutal.

Yeah but what would you really want to tell? Cooper recuperating and getting cuddled, his ex-girlfriend already pregnant, Detective Lydia Adams and Russ getting their freak on, Dewey being Dewey and Officer Ben Sherman transferring over to Sargent Tang's department and starting an underworld crime ring owned by the LAPD?

Yeah the story ends really grim but it's a good wrap up :)

Just discovered this show on Hulu. Fantastic cast and the writing was amazing. Would like to see a revisit of the show like Prision Break is getting on Fox!

They way they ended the show worked. That's exactly how it should've needed

I feel like the show should have ended with Ben quitting. It's clear he couldn't interpret all of the advice he was being given between Cooper telling Chickie to Rat on Dewey, then getting angry at her for it - and Sammy talking about the trust between partners, only to be faced with the dilemma of Sammy's conscience getting the better of him about the tape... I feel like the show began with Ben trying to be a good cop - only to watch him twist the advice in his head , and it not working out, so it should have ended with him leaving not being able to handle it/burning out.

A final season of Cooper recovering and seeing how far Ben as fallen since Cooper was Ben's T.O. would have been interesting as Ben slowly realizes he's not made out to be a cop.
