Damn, I miss this show!!

I think I'm going through withdrawels...

reply

It was one of the top five shows on television.
I still can't believe it went away so soon.

reply

Really says alot about tv-viewers these days. Brain dead reality tv gets ratings through the roof, but an exelent show like this gets cancelled because of low ratings... A shame, really...

reply

I would throw a parade if the cast were reunited for at least another season - I miss this show in the same way that I miss other QUALITY shows like NYPD Blue, The West Wing and Rescue Me and Breaking Bad!

Tears on my pillow :(

Thank God for Hell On Wheels, SOA,Halt and Catch Fire and Longmire :)

reply

Hear, hear!

Plus all that superb acting by all the actors on Southland.
But not one Emmy for acting. Unreal.
I hate the way this great show was trashed by those that run the TV industry.

reply

I couldn't agree with you more! I don't and will never understand how anyone, when time is so valuable and you choose to unwind watching a good tv show, choose to watch a reality show like duck dynasty or storage wars. Southland was amazing, great writing, great actors and great drama. I miss it too

reply

I miss the show too. It was a great show.

I hate Reality shows too! What garbage. I've seen previews for Storage Wars...never got the concept of that....why would you want to buy other people's junk??? And don't get me started on that other piece of garbage ...The Kardashians!!! They are totally worthless "humans"!

This show was really believable and well written, but I assume that was the problem, people seem to want to watch over exaggerated crap when it comes to cop shows. I was just watching "Reckless" which Hatosy starred in so that brought me here to check what was up with "Southland." I remember feeling like they took so much time off between seasons, guess because of the limited episodes,so I just assumed it was not time for it it start up again then I see it was cancelled, ugh.

reply

I don't necessarily have a problem with the over excagerated stuff like NCIS: LA or Hawaii FIVE-O. I find those quite amusing. But I enjoy Southland and other more real and down to earth stuff alot more. Just too bad most people don't agree with me. I for one, need more shows/movies like Southland.

reply

Agreed.

Two of the main actors moved on to The Walking Dead and Gotham. I would consider watching them there.. it somewhat satisfies my withdrawal. ;)

reply

I know :) Not a huge fan of TWD, but I'm definently gonna check out Gotham, when that starts. I've also considered watching the old cop shows Adam-12 and Hill Street Blues. I've heard alot of good stuff about those shows.

reply

You should check out the new TV show this season called Reckless...Shawn Hatosy stars on that one.

reply

Cool! Maybe I will :)

reply

Great Idea! Hill Streat Blues is I think the first show of David Milch - love all his works but his HBO show Deadwood is excellent.

Apropos HBO/excellent/deadwood, ever tried the off-the-charts catalogue of HBO shows?

reply

I live in Norway, so I don't have HBO. Recently HBO Nordic has become availeble here, though they only have small handfull of the selection that they have in the States.

reply

I'm looking forward to that season 3 that I missed! I love this show!

reply

I miss this show too. Dissapointed we didn't get to see what happened to Cooper after his standoff at the end of S05. Rewatching it now a year and a half later and it's just as great on the second viewing. Every aspect of the show is top notch. Also, if you love this show you might like Ray Donovan, Southland creator Ann Biderman's new show on Showtime. Almost as good as Southland imo.

reply

Maybe I'll check it out!

reply

Watching season 2 after getting DVD S2,3,4 Southland for Christmas! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ. Best gift ever ! Like its all new! Damn I want this show to come back!!!

reply

Me too! I'm about to attempt to rewatch the whole series for the third time = that's how much I love it. It just seems like the most accurate depiction of what being a police officer is really like and all the bs they have to deal with in a big city on a daily basis. And then the acting, story, pacing, direction, everything was just excellent. Too bad they only made 43 episodes. I could have easily watched another 150!

reply

I just finished this show today, and I'm so angry at myself for not finding it while it was on.

I binge watched it over the last two weeks, and it holds a firm place in my top 5 favorite shows of all time. I just wish it could have had 1 more , final season.

reply

Probably the ONLY show that kept me on edge the whole time. That's good TV.
