Jack stealing 3 chalices?

In the scene where Jack steals the chalices with Barbossa, it looks like he takes 3 chalices. He sneaks up to the table, takes the first one, and when the guy looks the other way he takes the second one. But then after they knock him unconscious Barbossa takes another chalice from the chair and throws it to Jack who puts it in his bag alongside the other one(s).

The only explanation I could think of is that maybe Jack put one of the chalices on the chair after taking it from the table, but really why would he do that and then walk away from it and leave Barbossa to throw it to him a few seconds later?

That "third" chalice was actually the second chalice.

Jack takes the first one, and Barbossa takes the second one from the opposite side of the table. You can tell because he uses his wooden crutch.

Presumably after both of them steal one chalice each, they each have one chalice in their possession, so after knocking the dude out, Barbossa tosses his chalice to Jack (which he had put on the table so he could knock the guy out).

The scene definitely has continuity problems in that the characters move way too quickly to get behind the Spanish guy, but it's for comedic effect. Don't think too deeply into it.

Ah I'm seeing it now, it still seems a bit strange but I'm willing to buy into it a bit more now.
