Mermaid confusion
When the mermaid's crate of water gets dropped, they are forced to walk. But the mermaid now has 2 legs? What?

shareI didn't so much mind that, however then she gets her tail back later, which wasn't consistent with mermaid mythology according to The Little Mermaid

Rescue the damsel in distress, whip the bad guy, save the world.

The legs are meant as a way to blend in with humans, lure prey to the water, and/or get back in the water if they ever end up on land. This is more typical of modern day mermaid folklore. In any case, the legs are supposed to be temporary as mermaids can't live long on land before they'll die (much like dolphins and whales), and this was also shown in the movie.
shareInteresting. I know very little about mermaid lure.

Hee, hee, I went through a phase where I was somewhat obsessed with mermaid folklore.
shareI never took much of an interest in mermaids. I am into vampires. I never saw mermaids as really scary. I guess I came across the wrong stories.
