synopsis please
could someone please write a synopsis of this movie? It won't be released in my country (or at least, not for quite some time) and I'd like to know if it's worth seeing. Thanks!
shareI can't give you a synopsis more complete than the one already posted with the user comments without totally ruining the movie for you, but I would recommend you watch it. It has some poor effects and some truly B-movie scenes but I presume that was more due to a lack of budget than anything else. The story itself is interesting enough, but it does ring a bit of a certain Stephen King novel and all the ghost stories one was told as a kid. Enjoyable enough if you can get it on DVD or PPV, not worth paying to go to the cinema to watch it.
shareThe story basically concerns a young couple who have just lost their young daughter in a savage dog attack. They move to the small Irish community of Wake Wood and quickly discover that the village has an ancient secret. Perhaps due to something in the soil of the region, the villagers are able to bring loved ones back from the dead through a sort of ritual that is like a re-birth. The head of the community offers to resurrect the couple's daughter for the 3 days allowed, but they must remain in Wake Wood forever as a consequence, and the daughter cannot leave beyond the boundaries of the village without returning to a state of death. The couple have distorted the facts, however, and all is not well when the daughter is resurrected....
Just a brief synopsis, really. I don't want to spoil things too much. I enjoyed the movie a great deal, but I cant say if you'd like it - only you can decide that for yourself when you see it!
