Boycott Blumhouse and DDG

David Gordon Green basically turned Halloween Ends into the last Jedi of the horror franchise.

I will not be seeing this movie due to him disrespecting Michael Myers and ruining a great classic.

I’m sure the Exorcist will suffer the same fate.

reply

Boycott? Nah, just going to stick to the original and third film. Last DDG film I saw was Halloween (2018) which was embarrassingly poor and that was the best of the new trilogy so I'm told...

I did like H18 and Kills wasn’t that bad either.

reply

Halloween Kills wasn't that bad? You're trolling

reply

I liked it because it was basically Michael Myers in God mode, as it should be. The flashback to the original Halloween was also done well.

Yeah the acting was cheese ball and I wish they would’ve done more with Tommy and Lindsey, but overall Kills wasn’t that bad.

One thing for sure is it was definitely better than crappy ass Halloween Ends.

Because of the, recent, stupid Michael Myers films? Michael Myers was great in the original Halloween and OK in Halloween 2 (In a Jaws 2 sorta way), but beyond that? The rest are take-em or leave-em, and I don't think I'll ever watch any of them a second time.

I actually like the Rob Zombie films, but they are a whole different thing.

I like the RZ Halloween ad well. Rob does a good job at making the sets for his movie. Smiths Grove and the Myers house had a real gritty look to it which I like. Micheal looks like a tank and real intimidating as well as gritty and dirty looking.

It did have more of a Texas Chaimsaw feel to it though. Makes me wish Rob would’ve done a TCM movie instead of Halloween.

While I'd never proclaim it any sort of great film, I think that Halloween 4 has a certain charm to it.

reply

Well, I'm not going to watch it again, but I can believe that the first of a series of needless sequels (and 4 really was the first of it's series, with no further connection to the originals than Moustapha Akkad) would be the best of the lot.

reply

It was bad starting with the 2018 movie.

reply

I liked the 2018 movie though. It wasn’t perfect, but it was better than the cult storyline.

Honestly though I would’ve loved to see a movie adaptation of some of the Halloween comics where the victims seem random and not him going after the same people again.

Halloween Ends is one of my most soul destroying movie viewing experiences ever.

I wasn't even actively angry whilst watching it I was just is absolute shock at the heaping pile of shit that DGG had served up. Sheer disbelief at what I was watching. How they thought that was a good idea is completely beyond me. You'd be forgiven for thinking they actively made it to piss the fans off.

Halloween (1978) is my most watched movie of all time. The franchise is my third favorite of all time. I enjoy most of the entries. The 2018 movie was decent, Kills was a bit of a mess so going into Ends I didn't have my expectations up but holy shit a 1/10 if ever I saw one.

reply

Yes the original was the best one.

Halloween Ends should’ve been a rehash of Halloween 2 with Michael stalking Laurie at the hospital.
