namely that he deserted his unit and will be arrested after his fight with his brother (why not before?) does not decrease by one iota the support he gets at the fight by the stands full of marines? Right.

A. The dude saved a bunch of Marines lives
B. Anybody that's been in the shit will attest that losing a brother, especially in that way, can majorly fuck with your head. The military has to charge him by law, but nobody in uniform is thinking all that poorly of him given the context of the situation.
