Yes you may be right. I didn't know at first if it was for bulking up, I don't know that dept, but I thought it may be for anxiety/PTSD. Which begs the question, why did his Dad/trainer tell him to throw them away? And three of them... They must have different uses.
shareI don't think they were for bulking up, since he had them before he saw the poster at the gym and decided to fight.
I am guessing one of two things: Either his pills caused side effects that would interfere with training, or that the pills were actually not legally prescribed to him.
He was also drinking a lot, so maybe the pills were recreational.... both intending to help with his problems, but in the wrong way.

Also, from the look on his face when asked to give up the pills, it seemed they were being used improperly. It was like telling a kid to give back candy he stole. lol
