Too predictable...

As soon as I learned they were brothers I guessed the final. The other matches didn't add anything. It was boring. Thought the father was a pretty cliched character too.

Antiparanoia is the eerie feeling that nothing is connected to anything else

This movie was extremely predictable-almost ridiculously so-but I still enjoyed it for the most part. It was well acted and the pacing was good. I'm somewhat surprised it got so high up on IMDB's to 250 list.

By the way, I also think it would be great if one Jodorwsky film was in the top 250-perferably El Topo-but I doubt it's going to happen.

How does the poster give away the winner?

On the DVD cover I have you can see the older brother carying his injured brother out of the cage... I agree. I guessed the whole movie after the first half hour. Even my wife did. 8.2 on IMBD is WAY overrated IMO. It deserve no more than an solid 7. Not bad but not great. The sons hatred for their father just annoyed me at one point.

It is very predictable and loaded with cliches. But it pulls it off so well with great performances, excellent cinematography and an extremely touching story. It's the best fighting/boxing film I've ever seen. I say this as a sports fan having absolutely no interest in MMA.
