Absolutely horrible zoomed-in shaky cam...

This completely ruined the film for me. When, oh when, are Hollywood directors going to stop this horrible habit of zoomed-in shaky cam. I would expect that from teenagers making a movie with their I-phone. This is a friggen big budget Hollywood movie. There is no excuse for it. Movies are so poorly shot today it's pathetic. This film deserves a low rating just for that. My dog could film fight scenes better than this. I will never watch another Gavin Oconnor movie again. Either go back to film school or find another profession.

The purpose of shaky cam:

1) To disguise the impact of violence in order for a film to get a lower rating

2) To disguise an awkwardly choreographed fight scene

3) To convey a sense of chaos and confusion on the part of the combatants

The worst offenders (although I'm sure these have been surpassed) are Batman Begins and the second & third Bourne films.

IMO, it's not too bad in Warrior. They probably used it to soften the fact that the lead actors don't move like expert fighters and that the blows aren't connecting.

It feels weird because, unlike a traditional movie fight scene, we are used to watching MMA on a screen and seeing a steadily shot fight.
