6/10 Not That Bad

Just watched this for the first time on Netflix. 30, grew up on the TMNT cartoon and movies of the early '90s.

There were some things that bothered me a great deal:
1) April saves the lab rat and turtles... then decides to drop them down the sewer instead of keeping them.
2) The design of everything. The turtles, Splinter, Shredder, everything.
3) Megan fox and her lack of emotions.

Then there were some elements I genuinely enjoyed:
1) They use their weapons.
2) The foot clan are a serious crew.
3) The attempts at humor are more hit than miss.
4) Each turtle has a distinct personality and look, making them easy to distinguish.

And there's some stuff I have mixed feelings about:
While the CGI isn't stellar, having the turtles as fully CGI allows them to do extreme action scenes without being replaced jarring CGI. A guy in a costume just can't do what these turtles can.

Though I prefer the 1990 movie, I can't really say the 2014 take is any worse than the other TMNT films. I would have preferred to not retell the origin, let alone replace what worked with something that just screams plot holes, but that's Hollywood.

Came here to say the same thing. Not nearly as bad as it has been made out to be. Typical noisy Bay fare, Megan Fox was predictably bad, and some bad dialogue, but otherwise entertaining enough.

Nahhh this movie is rotten ass.

I agree. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either.

Can't stop the signal.

It was better than I thought it would be. It was OK. Yeah, it got issues and changes I don't like. It was enjoyable. Also, it wasn't so dang long like Transformers. BTW, I was a fan from the (19)80s. ;)
