These lines were really cool, they deserved to have appeared.

Splinter's line (in the novelization) was during the Hashi scene. And Leo's line sounds like it was just for the TV spot (cool enough that I wish Leo had narrated the opening scene from the eldest brother perspective).

There was a novelization? I had no idea. Did it have any info the film didn't give?

Junior novelization. But for a novel aimed at kids, it's damn pretty good. It's a translation of the full script. No new info, just everything is longer & more fleshed out. Little funnier & more dramatic. Alternate versions of dialogues. I greatly enjoyed reading & imagining what would've been a 2 hour cut.
