Again that's not what they were saying throughout production. If it was made for young fans of the current animated series then why didn't it resemble the actual show. Sure, you could argue that the 1990 movie didn't resemble the Fred Wolf series and veered it's story more towards the original comics (a valid reason to be different) but it did have a lot of the catchphrases and gimmicks from the cartoon for the kids. There was little from the popular Nickledeon series in the movie for fans of the show.

I know Kevin Eastman claimed that it would please both kids and adult TMNT fans, well not this adult fan. Nothing like any version I ever read/saw. It got made on the strength of the Nick toon's popularity in spite of not being like it. They gave it the Transformers treatment hoping to appeal to older fans of the Fred Wolf cartoon as well. Didn't work for me, but made a HUGE amount of money.

all the transfomred got progressively worse. its everything wrong with hollywood. its so bad people though michael Bay apologized for them..
is making money how you analyze and rate movies? it was crap

I gave it a 5, and I'm probably being over generous. I think you exaggerate though. Unlike TMNT 3, it wasn't a COMPLETE throwaway. There were some things about it to enjoy, despite it being a mess overall. I enjoyed it less than I'd hoped, but more than I'd feared. share
