The contrasting personalities of the 4 turtles were absent.

The 4 turtles existed as one character in this film and that's why it failed. There was no character driven plot elements at all, no character conflict between the group whatsoever. Each of the turtles brings a certain ideal to each situation and crisis...and that was missing in this script.

LEO - he leads, keeps the group together and under control

RAPH - tracked down his brothers, was able to hold his own physically against the Shredder

DONNIE - his tech helped track down Sacks, and he was smart enough to disable the device

MIKEY - I grant you this, he didn't really have much to do

Ok, but there was still no character development with them. Megan fox was the protagonist, who the heck wants that?

The guy I've been arguing with probably. Since we, apparently , "need" that fish out of water character.

Leonardo leads by interrupting everyone and putting down anyone else's ideas.

Donatello does machines, needs glasses, and gets picked on by his brothers because he is a nerd.

Raphael is rude but crude, as well as having anger issues and roid rage.

Michelangelo is the type of party dude that would probably slip something into April's drink.
