How come they all didn't die when...

They were falling down while holding onto the antenna array? I mean seriously? They're falling as they're engrossed in their conversation and didn't notice that they hit the ground? I mean there's no plausible explanation that A) They survived a fall like that and B) They didn't even notice that they landed. How could they write that in the script and ask the audience to believe that?

It's a movie.

If you're the type to watch a scene like that (which is clearly a gag), in a movie called 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', and get hung up on whether its realistic or not, probably best to not watch it altogether (many other movies too, for that matter).

See, I hate it when people use that logic. They say" it's a movie about teenage mutant ninja turtles. What do you expect?" I'll tell you what I expect. I expect that the movie fall into some reasonable amount of logic so I can have empathy for the characters and fear for their safety. The logic of the story of them being teenage mutant ninja turtles is explained and makes sense given the facts about their origins. But when you have them fall off a building and not only survive but not know that they hit the ground then you are telling me that no amount of logic exists in this movie.

Leonardo may as well put his lips over a loaded shotgun and pull the trigger. What would I expect in a logical world? That his brains would be blown out of his damn head. But no! This movie tells me that the scatter shot will pass through his brain with no injury whatsoever! Logic???? *beep* THAT SH*T!!!!!

Your argument is wrong.

I think it's pretty reasonable to say that the way the tower was falling (a bumpy fall, building after building) they could have survived it.

Also it was partly played for humor, we think the Turtles are going to die but in fact they made it.

Usually a scene like that (which is ultimately just a gag) would bug me but its serving a purpose; to understand whats going on in Raph's head - which he'd only reveal if he thought he was about to die. In the 1990 film, Splinter lays out for the audience Raph's problems & how he's made himself an outcast. Here, we get it from Raph himself. It's a cool little scene (Raph's animation is really stellar in this particular bit too).

I can't believe you're defending this horrible horrible movie.

I see what you're getting at, but this is the only answer I can come up with and while it's terrible it's what I believe is the truth.

Although that scene was done as a gag, it was just poorly written. The fall could've been shortened and had the same effect without it being less believable.

I'm thinking since it's a TMNT movie(and Micheal Bay) it had to be over the top. Sadly

If all movies were to be taken seriously then Arnold Schwarzenegger would not have had a career. Movies can be guilty pleasures and still be enjoyable.

Yeah but c'mon! It's got to have some semblance of reality! It's not about seriousness or bending logic. This scene completely tosses how we know the physical world to work out the window!I can't get behind that crap.

OP has a point. It had its own laws of physics.

It's that man again!!

I'm with the OP on this one.

They're falling and spinning and the camera is all crazy and then they are just on the ground. There is really no explanation for how they survived.

It really was played for humour, but at the expense any semblance of understanding or cohesion.
