Atrocious script = atrocious movie
The director wrote the screenplay, and boy does it show. Finally saw the film (extended version) and assumed it would be a no-brainer OK experience after a Summer of stinkers. I was so, so, so very WRONG.
The three leads are just horrific. The irony is despite the racism here, Leslie Jones as the 'forth' Ghostbuster is the best of the 4 by far.
But here's the thing- the entire film looks like it was made by a team with a gun to their heads. There's zero 'art' on show. As I said, the impossibly bad script (both plotting and dialogue) makes you want to smash something in disgust. The film looks ugly and sounds ugly- astonishingly shoddy work at play.
The 'high' point of the movie is the burst of adequate but oh so familiar CGI chaos in the final act. This sequence isn't very good- but it's gold compared to the rest of the movie.
We all know by now that Ghostbusters 2016 lost a fortune for Sony. Now I've seen the movie, I promise you this was oh so deserved. That so many PAID critics praised this movie on release (the SAME set of people who TRASHED Alien and Blade Runner on release) shows you how corrupt mainstream media really is. Only someone with a foul agenda could praise this movie in general (though if an ORDINARY person enjoys this, good for them).
If you haven't seen it yet, please think twice before wasting your hard earned cash on changine that situation.
