What made Ghost Gals such a box office success?

Obviously, Sony did something correct.

They took a fatal franchise, ballooned it's budget, added that Hollywood IN-YOUR-FACE PC type [that everyone pretends to hate but everyone hovers as such] and shopped it successfully to consumers all around the world -China.

And critics seem to agree.

The film was a massive success.

Time to invest massively in Sony Pictures before they anounce their next masterpiece... an all female reboot of Road House.
They will even use the same cast they used in GB2016, so the success is guaranteed. ;)

reply

Wait.. Wut? The movie hasn't even made a return on investment.

Relax...OP's obviously a troll (a rather bad one though)...either that or can you spell w-o-r-k-i-n-g-f-o-r-s-o-n-y?

Also on the horizon is the remake of Smokey and the Bandit with Melissa McCarthy as the Bandit and Kate Mckinnon as Snow Girl with her Chihuahua Freideta as they try to outwit a misogynist sheriff and his son

That's why the movie made Sony a loss of at least 70 million but actually probably 100-150 million dollars?
Yes, losing money totally screams success...

I can't tell if you are being ironic or not, but in case you aren't you do know that Paul Feig said it had to make ~$500 million at the box office to be successful and probably more

Sony's original break even numbers were $300 million. After the fiasco that was the movie's release Sony spun that down another $50 million when they went into full damage control mode.

If the original numbers Sony put out are correct (and I believe that they were) then the movie is still $72 million short of breaking even at the box office, let alone being considered a box office success.

That's really bad for a movie that Sony was claiming would be a block buster that would re-ignite the franchise.

The film was indeed more successful than your IMDb sock account conveniently created the same time that Ghostbusters 2016 was launched.

Fail!

Shouldn't you be in the kitchen, making your man a sandwich, and also getting ready for when he says it's sex time?

That is just offensive!

She could just as well be in the kitchen making her woman a sandwich.

Shame on you, with a few notable exceptions, all the best chefs in the world are men.

Oh I get it, this is a joke thread! You're lampooning those who are under the false impression this movie was awesome. If you are, my compliments.

If you're not and is actually serious (and it would be funnier if you weren't joking), I am not sure what you're taking, but I can guarantee you would get a grand for a gram.
