The tagline couldn't be any more wrong.
This isn't the most terrifying experience.

So you want to go pick apart marketing hype? Well at least you'll have something to complain about in just about every movie or TV show that is ever marketed.
Now if you want to go have some real fun go watch all the Fall TV advertisements for new shows where EVERYONE of them is touted as "the seasons biggest hit" and then the majority of them are cancelled before the season even ends... I think you'll find those marketing claims are much more bogus than the ones for Evil Dead or most movies in general. At least for some person out there a movie claim like this could actually be true, but most TV adverts for new shows that have never even been shown but are claimed to be the seasons biggest hit are complete bullshit.
The advertisement here is telling me what I experience. They don't know what the most terrifying experience I will ever see.
shareBut for some people it may well be... clearly doesn't apply to everyone that sees it but it is certainly more likely to be true that the typical marketing bullshit for new never seen TV shows.
