The Evil Dead (2013) Vs The Evil Dead (1981)?
Which one do you like better?
I've seen both and I don't really know which one to choose

The original is overrated. I remember seeing it when I was like 11 and I was bored...I was bored again when I watched it before the remake came out, but I was able to appreciate it more.
The remake was just awesome. If the remake came out in 1981, and the original came out in 2013, everyone would be saying how great the "original" is. Just because it was the first, doesn't mean it was the best.

The remake.
shareThe original was silly and boring as hell. As an 80s baby, I thought it absolutely terrible. The remake was more so for ppl of my generation, it had funny points that didn't get ridiculous and SCARY. They used every origin or horror, it that Creep factor, blood and guts as well as jump scares.

Me too, I watched the 2013 version last night & thought it was quite good. But it has a similar look to other recently made horror films I have seen.
The original always stood out to me & of course it has the debut of one of my favourite characters in Ash Williams.
I prefer the original. The remake comes across as a gore fest, whereas the original did better in creating a suspenseful atmosphere.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

The remake is better than the original in every way.
Better acting, better script, better dialogue, better character development, more suspenseful, better soundtrack, better practical effects etc
I don't think that's true at all. The remake clearly had more money spent on it and, superficially, it is largely the better of the two as a result. However, it's not as inventive, its camerawork is far more conventional and less interesting as a result, its lead actor is far less charismatic and, at least in my opinion, its lacking the same haunting atmosphere of the first.
I love both films, for the record. I'd definitely side with the first film over the remake, though.
