Not for those over 40

.....Or film art students. I'm seeing an over flow of movies like "It Follows" and "Under the skin" get all the praise when they are mediocre at best! Its like a step up from that horrible found footage BS that's finally starting to come to an end. This is why: in movies like it follows..ect there are like 5 or 6 people in the whole movie. Unrealistic. I see more people then that from my back porch. Then there are Giant plot wholes in these movies, I don't like to be confused and lost after a movie. The Evil Dead remake was creepy,a little funny and had the blood and guts factor making use of every traditional and non traditional aspects of horror. It didn't get the respect it deserves at all. A low budget movie where a lot of weird Sh#$t just happens for no reason IS NOT SCARY. Don't get me wrong most movies these days have plot wholes but you shouldn't be able to drive a car through it.

So did you like the movie? Your post and its subject line seem to display mixed feelings...

I am over 40. Saw it in theater when released. And consider it one the greatest movies ever made. So....

It was a fun horror movie but one of the greatest movies ever made it is not, taste is subjective in movies I know but in this case its just a fact hah. 2001 a Space Odyssey, The Shining, The good, The Bad, and The Ugly, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest etc. are what I would put in that kind of category Evil Dead not so much. The main part about this movie that was lacking as the actors especially the lead girl she was just abysmal. I wanted more scenes like the scene where she was mocking the one girl from under the trap door "don't cut it off bitch", I thought that was well done or the scene with the black girl stopping in her tracks and pissing herself in fear and the bathroom scene but after that it kind of got a bit boring to me aside from the really well done gore, the gore was absolutely awesome but without suspense it gets old after awhile. I will say it beats the hell out of the original evil dead movies they are just garbage rewatching them today and wow the Evil Dead tv show is so bad I couldn't believe it, Bruce Campbell sure is lucky because he doesn't belong on screen in anything he's just terrible.

Black girl? What black girl?

Sorry i I couldn't take it....

Plot holes not plot wholes.

Under the Skin was the most grueling film I've ever watched. Because it was so intensely boring. ScarJo isn't even remotely attractive enough for her being naked to save that utterly detestable POS.

Weirdly I loved Under the Skin, the whole feel of it, the artistic handling of the material etc. It's set to become a kind of cult classic.

I don't know why I am even responding to an uneducated cretin. But...I loved the movie, despite my advanced age of 47. I love the entire horror genre. It was scary, low-CGI, just awesome.

And you see more people "than" that from your back porch, not "then" that. Ellipses have 3 dots, not 2. The abbreviation for et cetera is etc., not ect.

I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful... I feel good, I feel great, I feel wonderful...

Lol... Since you decided to come comment on this you must fit into that criteria. This isn't school and I'm not being grafted for being PAID to post so I could care less about proff reading but thanks for stopping by.?

Jeez! You ARE illiterate! It's "proof" reading and your defense for being illiterate is pathetic.

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

Are you? If you don't like it or get it don't respond!

LOL, when did people who don't like something ever not respond?

PS Your grammar and spelling need work.

You mean "plot HOLES", not "wholes". You know, like the "hole" in your brain.

Who are you to suggest what can be enjoyed by anyone of any? *beep* off.

reply

*shruggs.... I use auto text. *beep* happens

I'm over 40 and I love art films and I still thought this was great. Under the Skin was excellent, IMO, and It Follows was just okay. Film, like any art form, is subjective and doesn't usually conform to any stereotypes. Nice generalizing.

what did you expect? he's a millennial and thinks he invented or discovered everything. he's threatened by older people because it breaks the illusion and he realizes he's nothing interesting, let alone original.

in his mind, this movie is only for his age group, as they are somehow more in-the-know

Yeah, he's one of those pretentious wankers

reply

That seems quite presumptuous.
