I legitimately like this movie; I re-watched it after not having seen it for a couple of years, and it has held up. It has a nice contemporary twist while still celebrating the original, and on top of that it's super atmospheric and just fun. As far as horror remakes go, it's one of the best I've seen.
shareIt's actually a great movie. There was a lot of knee-jerk reaction when it first came out because it wasn't a continuation of the original. I think now we have Ash vs Evil Dead it's easier to appreciate this.

I usually stay far away from 'remakes, reboots, reimaginings' etc. But this was great. Only thing I could've done without was the way they showed the Book illustration every time something bad happened to a character. But otherwise, good stuff.
Possessed Mia was pretty friggin' cool.
Good on Jane Levy! She was great.
