no evil dead 2 now?

i see the director has done don't breath so evil dead 2 was pushed back. he's now been given girl with the dragon tattoo sequel so i think he'll abandon evil dead 2 for bigger projects. anyone agree?

It could just be factors are keeping the script from being finished... or people are too caught up watching Ash vs the Evil Dead.

No point trying to show mercy to the stupid, they wouldn't know what to do with it anyway

I'm guessing it's the fact that after forsaking everything about the Evil Dead, they can't figure out how to turn a comedy as funny as Evil Dead 2 into a boring horror movie.

I mean, people loved the Evil Dead movies because they were hysterical...and the remake took away ALL of the humor.

Now it's just another horror movie.

AND, because of that, and the fact that Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 are basically the same movie with even more comedy and less attempts at horror, if they were going to make a sequel to the remake, they'd have to actually write an original script to make it different enough for people to enjoy it and still ignore the comedy that made the originals a Cult icon.

Let's face it, anyone remaking movies doesn't have the talent to write something on their own.

Amen to that.

They are not considered comedies. When will the world recognize this. Those movies just so happened to have funny parts. Army of Darkness is the comedy of the three. Do some research first. You have IMDB st your fingertips. Literally. Smh

ED 2 is considered comedy, but mainly because of the animals and that hand flipping the bird lol

Evil Dead 1 was supposed to be a straight up horror movie, Evil Dead 2 is a horror comedy, and Army of Darkness is a straight up comedy. I think the remake's comedy is much more subtle, but definitely still there.

Looks like it's not happening. I think the budget was $17 million and it earned $97 worldwide. While that may sound great, when you include marketing costs and theater cuts, it's probably not enough to get investors and studios excited in a new trilogy. They had plans for Jane Levy to return but considering this thread is 4 years old with no action taken, I doubt it's happening anymore.

Watch there be a remake remake in another 10 years.

ED2 is on the back burner and probably will be for a long time.
There are several scripts for ED2 ready to be produced but Fede Alvarez is not contractually linked to part 2.
Back in 2014 ED2 came close to being put in production but Sam Raimi wanted to focus on TV with Ash vs Evil Dead.
Its a numbers game and TV was deemed more profitable. Sam Raimi also feel that movies are an outdated medium and art form.
