Why weren't more tie in novels for this show written?

Not counting the novelization of the three part pilot, I think it would have been interesting if this show had gotten its own series of tie in novels like SG-1 and Atlantis did. I doubt the forty episodes that were produced depicted every thing that went on with the Destiny crew and their daily struggle to survive in deep space. If the show is ever resurrected in a literary format a book or graphic novel series would be nice to see.

You could always read and/or write fan fiction. I hate fanfics, absolutely abhor them, but for some people that's all they need to get their fix. For me, unless a very highly established author were to write some books continuing the story - and even then I'd prefer that the SGU producers gave them the thumbs up - I will otherwise continue to go back and re-watch the series.
