Well...the Aschen weren't really into the whole exploration and travelling the universe thing. Remember the deal giving them stargate adresses? They were quite comfortable dominating their little corner of the galaxy.
Actually, the exact opposite is true. The reason the Aschen were so interested in obtaining those addresses (along with a proper dialing program to account for interstellar drift) was because they were limited in their travels by a lack of a DHD on their home Stargate. They couldn't have known that the Stargate network was bigger than the 300 light year radius from their homeworld that they explored. I'm sure with their technology they had ran a program to find every workable combination of 6 symbols with their own home symbol but without a DHD they would have had to compensate for instellar drift, but since the symbols on each Stargate are constellations as seen from Earth, they would have no frame of reference on their own world to even think that addresses are based on stars.
Then intending to just wait a generation for the natural aging process to take its course.
That's not true, either. They wanted to keep some humans viable, after all, they needed someone to work their newest agricultural planet (Earth), just as the people on that other planet did their own world.
Formerly l5rfox.
And there was one world with nothing but shrimp. I tired of it quickly.
