A goddamn travesty that it ended! YES or NO?

yes yes yes, it's now been a while since i've seen it but there were a couple of scenes with Robert Carlyle that were truly *beep* great, i mean like really *beep* extraordinary seeing as this was "just a tv-show". I liked this serie much better than any of the other SGs (not saying that the others were bad) but there was something more about this one, something i don't know how to articulate but it gave it more of a movie feeling if you know what i mean. To *beep* bad it's gone..., but at least we have "The Expanse" (until some *beep* decides whatever and cancels it anyways)....

Yes. Very sad that we only had two seasons.

it's been a while since i saw it last but if i recall it correctly it ended in such a way manner that made us believe that a 3rd season was to come...or am i confusing it with some other serie?

No, that's right. To not have to deal with the drones any longer, they decided to cut short their stay in their currently galaxy and skip to the next one. However, it was a two year journey and without being able to resupply during that time they opted to ride it out in stasis. The cliff hanger centered on whether they would be able to make it with the energy reserves they had available to them (if everything went right they would have but there was no margin for error) and also if Eli was going to be able to make it or not. There wasn't a working stasis chamber for him so he was the only one who remained awake. The problem, though, was that he only had about a month worth of food so he either had to get a chamber working or he'd die.

Right, thnx. Man...Robert Carlyle was great in this, the episode when he takes revenge on the guy that was responsible for the death of the woman he loved was so *beep* good, revenge like that is not something we get to see very often. Not that it was something spectacular about it, just that he actually took revenge on the guy and intentionally caused his death, mostly people get hurt and/or arrested etc but they rarely die. He was an interesting character.

Yes, yes and more yes.

I'm guessing the reason for it's failure is that it wouldn't have polled too well with fanboiz and fangrrlz of the original franchise due to it's lack of familiarity (even though it's vastly superior imo), to which it's connection, in turn alienated potential new viewers on the basis it would be similar.

It's unfortunate that so many might have been interested in watching it had they have known the style was completely different from it's predecessors.

No. SGU had a great premise, but unfortunately the writing killed it pretty quick.
