Realistic depiction of Ojai?

I thought I had started this thread earlier, but I guess I hadn't.

I'm interested in knowing from actual residents of Ojai, California (preferably high schoolers) whether the depiction of Ojai in Easy A is a realistic one. The entire movie has a very orange and summery sunset aesthetic to it, and I love that. I'm not sure if that was added later in post-production, though. Does the film capture the town's essence? It was filmed entirely in Ojai, after all.

I'm originally from up north in a small city in the Bay Area called Cupertino, and it's definitely not this euphoric and utopian. My high school experience didn't look this gorgeous.

I am not sure what Ojai is like now, but I grew up there in the seventies and eighties. The high school never looked that clean or modern. But it could now. Also, there were never really homes like Olive's family's house in Ojai. I know there are developments like that there now, but the vast majority of the homes in Ojai look nothing like that. There are a lot of cottage type homes, older homes, and wooden homes there. And everything is surrounded by oak trees. I didn't notice any in the movie. I think there are parts of Ojai that look like the movie made it seem, but overall it is far more eclectic than the movie would lead you to believe.

Ojai is one of those exclusively nice and private little towns not too far from the coast in California. They like to keep it very 'home towny' so much that only ma & ma stores are accepted, like no Starbucks, I think. In fact a lot of old movie stars and actors retire out there or live, such as Julie Harris.
