At the end of the movie, when she texts her friend saying "Sorry I lied". I don't see any need to apologize, after the way she treated her, let alone the fact that she lied about kissing her crush. Besides, what kind of friend kisses a guy who she knows her "best friend" likes. That girl was not a very good "friend" from the start. She deserves no apology for Olive's behavior.

I agree. Olive was probably loyal to her because she had so few friends, though. I went through the same situation when I was in middle school and had a "friend" very much like this character before I finally came to my senses and realized I was better off without her. Still I wouldn't have apologized if I was Olive. She got what she deserved in the end.
shareI didn't like that, either. I guess that was her way of taking the high road and cutting her friend loose without guilt.
