was that her real singing voice and can anyone say mean girls?

i mean the singing bit was too similar to when lindsay's character sang for the christmas concert.

Kinda for the opposite reason, though; Cady was trying to get in with the popular kids, while Olive was trying to get out.

And yes, that was her real voice.

Funny- I just made the comparison with Mean Girls. Emma Stone also looks similir to Lindsay Lohan in the movie- freckled red heads with husky voices.

I'm fairly certain Emma Stone doesn't have freckles. If she does, I've never seen them before.

I liken the scene more to Ferris Bueller's Day Off (as they they reference in the movie). And yes, apparently she did sing the song herself.

The reference was to Ferris Bueller. They even showed the scene on the float, were you paying attention? But yes, it did have an essence of Mean Girls which is why I liked it.

Yeah, pretty much the only similarity is a redhead singing in front of her school...

Too similar for what? If that's her natural voice why complain? It's very nice. Lots of singers sound similar - so what?

you should listen to the Audio Commentary. Emma and Will, the director talk about it. It's her real singing voice, she'd been taking lessons since she was a kid. She prerecorded the song for the gym scene, but she danced to somebody else singing the song. She said she got too embarrassed dancing to her own voice.

Cyclops: Prove it.
Wolverine: You're a dick.
Cyclops: Ok.

She doesn't like her voice, for some reason  and she kept putting herself down after she did Cabaret, saying that the only reason she got the part was that Sally is supposed to be a bad singer 
