This is a good movie but a stupid concept. Why would any girl want to make people believe that she is a slut. Most women would want the exact opposite.

She never wanted people to believe she was a slut. The rumors started on its own, it wasn't her intention. Then it kinda snowballed after she helped Brendon and things went sideways from there.
Most women would want the exact opposite.
My advice, actually pay attention to the next film you watch. The first rumor, which really started the whole snowballing effect, was started in the bathroom on accident. The key here is ACCIDENT. She didn't purposely spread the rumor that she had lost her virginity. The religious girl was in the stall and overheard the 2 talking. It was the attention that she got from that rumor spreading that ultimately resulted in her doing the things she did. She didn't look in the mirror in the beginning of the film and state, "I want everyone to think I am a slut".
My advice, watch the film a 2nd time and actually follow the events of the film this time around. You might actually come to a different interpretion of the film. At least I hope you would.
