'Judy Blume should have prepared me for that...'
Ok I know that this is probably a reference to Judy Blume's book, Forever, but what I don't understand is the quote itself. Is Olive just saying that she hadn't read the book and thus thought her first love would be special? Because Judy Blume HAD prepared her for that (unless Olive didn't read the book). That's the whole point of the book Forever, isn't it?
here's the full quote for reference (may not be exact)
"I always thought pretending to lose my virginity would be a little more special. Judy Blume should have prepared me for that."
