Why is Brooke Elliot digitally altered in every advertisement?

Every advertisement for this show has a digitally slimmed down Brooke Elliot. Why? The premise of the show was supposed to be about a slim woman coming back into a plus size body. It totally defeats the purpose to digitally alter the way she looks.

I know! It annoys me too. Same way it annoys me that she is always wearing make-up. When coming out of bed or even being in bed, she is in full make-up. Why? We have seen her without make-up, so there is nothing to hide. Also, when 'old Jane' came back into the picture, she should have looked like old Jane, not new Jane with the sleek hair and heavy make-up.
The way they dress Jane (Brooke) and the way she poses, can give enough flattering pictures without digital altering, so they shouldn't have done it if you ask me. Brooke is a beautiful woman, and on the show, Jane always seemed confident about the way she looks, so that should have refelcted in the advertisements...

The makeup and sleek hair argument can be summed in the fact that Deb's spirit returned in Jane's body. That is the stuff she was about as evidenced by her best friend, Stacy. She acquired some of the old Jane's character as well as the show went along but she was still Deb.

Oh, I didn't even know that they did that! I guess I just haven't been paying enough attention. But they slim down everyone though, even women who are already thin. Everyone gets photoshopped to the point where they barely look human. Personally, I HATE this. Actually, I don't know any woman who doesn't hate this. It's one thing to do some minor touch-ups, maybe erase some pimples but what they're doing now in magazines, posters, etc. is just ridiculous.

Just as ridiculous as people calling her "fat". I'm sure most real women are closer to Jane's size than Deb's!

Most "real" women? Really? People still being "real" if they are under a certain size?
Also, just because most women are Jane's size doesn't stop her from being fat. I wouldn't use that word to describe her, but not because "most" people are her size. That's a pretty silly criterion
