Match Week 6 - Fraudiola?

Man City flopped again today.

Kompany finished. Silva gone. Aguero hitting that permanently injured career downhill trajectory.

Can Pep turn City around or with the big (pre Pep) signings coming to the end of their time is his number up?

reply

Yeah, a shadow of the team they were. I think Pep will turn it around, but they won’t be challenging this year.

He has walked into amazing squads in each club he has managed. If either one of us was to take over the teams he did, we'd have success too. I'd love to see him do what Ancelotti has done and take over a mid-table team. We'd see what he is made of then.

reply

That's a good call. Although we've got to see exactly where Everton will finish, you've got to respect Ancelotti for taking the challenge.

Guardiola took over Barcelona with prime Messi at his disposal, walked into Munich as Champions League and domestic league winners and nothing really needs to be said about the resources at his disposal at City.

If he can do something with City now, he'd maybe be due some credit but I can see him jumping ship to the "interesting project" / easy ride of PSG...

reply

Pep is a luxury manager. By which I mean, if you give him a job at PSG, City, Bayern etc, he'll probably win you some trophies.

He could never do what Mourinho did with Porto or Inter though.
