Why is the logo a woman's face?
She has a Karen haircut.
shareShe's supposed to be Marianne, the symbolic personification of the French Republic since the Revolution.
Admittedly, she doesn't look like any other representation of Marianne I've ever seen -- looks like a Lego woman -- but that's who she is.
This was kind of a joke, because I thought it was supposed to be a flame but they unintentionally made it look like a woman.
shareHa ha. No, your joke was correct. It is a woman. And also the Olympic flame. And also, presumably, spherical because it's representing the globe? Dunno. But, yeah, it is Marianne (among other things).
I still say it looks like a Lego woman. Graphic designer: 'That'll be 500,000 euros. Thank you.'
Clever design. I like it.

Bland bit of corporate fluff, if you ask me -- but there's no accounting for taste.
I don't know how people saw this and thought, "let's go with this one".
sharebetter than the 2012 London Olympics where their logo looked Lisa Simpson going down on Bart:

Only when it changes colour. It just looks like a jumbled mess to the left.
