What happened to the U-boat?

It seems that people get upset if you criticise an Indie film because it doesn`t have a lot of money to play with but the effects were decent and I`m not going to get annoyed if a uniform or insignia is slightly wrong or some of the extras look like they need to claim a pension; I draw the line however at bad acting and writing which unfortunately this film is awash.Initially an intriguing idea but what exactly happened to the U-boat?I admit I did drift on occasion but the next shot showed the Uranium on a couple of jeeps at the end.An unwelcome distraction was the "British" soldier who had a truly appalling accent. What happened to the captain? The Lucas lookalike had to leave the sub for some reason and then seemed to disappear.Maybe the tv version I saw was missing footage or more likely the plot didn`t make any sense.

Here is everything you need to know (link below), the crates marked U-235 is the atomic number but the boat was U-234, the U.S. sailors that unloaded the cargo thought the crates were mislabeled.

As per Wiki:

"She was unneeded by the US Navy, U-234 was sunk off Cape Cod as a torpedo target by USS Greenfish on 20 November 1947."
