all goals in soccer are offside
offside.
shareI haven't kept up with soccer (MLS) for years, but I've noticed in European Football leagues like today that off-sides rules have changed? Now you can move over the line as soon as your fellow offensive player kicks the ball into release? When I played as a kid if you ran and broke the plain, even if it was simultaneous to the fellow offender kicking the ball you were offsides, right?
sharei think it depends on the linesman
shareWell, when I got to play forward if you ever broke that line before the ball was in front of you it was offside no matter what. Now I've noticed when watching UEFA, Latin America or World Cup, that a forward can jump the line as long as a fellow teammate kicks the ball into the air, even if it's still behind you and the defensive line. Even when they show playback it clearly shows the offensive forward ahead of defenders.
Playing youth soccer, we could never break that line if the ball was never ahead of us.
