shareInternational trophies are often an overrated yardstick to measure the quality of a player by and Ronaldo winning the Euros is a good example. Ronaldo scored 3 goals in the competition, Portugal only won 1 game in 90 minutes and they finished third in their group. Ronaldo played poorly in the first couple of games and even missed a penalty. The Argentina that reached the final of the World Cup in 2014 were a better team and Messi arguably had a better tournament scoring 4 goals. But of course because Argentina didn't win it and Portugal did, this counts against Messi and favours Ronaldo. See what I mean?
shareThey've got off to good starts, although neither are as naturally talented as Messi. They may eclipse his goalscoring but won't be able to replicate his creativity or the quality of his play.
