Arguably the most exciting word cup final I have seen. What a game! Argentina get their 3rd World Cup trophy…and it was deserved. Kudos to France for fighting back and not giving up…but Argentina were the better team.
shareI'm not really sure what happened with that game! France were so bad that I felt certain the virus story had been underplayed and that we'd be hearing they were all in bed vomiting all week. They just had no energy at all and it was weird seeing that against the aging Messi, Di Maria and co.
Then it was like someone flicked a switch and suddenly they could play again! However I thought - like the Dutch - that they'd come to regret not killing the match once they'd drawn level. And so it proved to be.
Argentina's keeper was the hero in the end.
