Let's recap the blatant corruption in favour of Argentina.

- Argentina has been given 4 penalties. That's the most of any other team.

- Those 4 penalties are two more than the next highest team which is 2.

- Argentina has had 0 penalties given against them.

- One penalty Messi scored was given despite an obvious encroachment of one of his players running into the box. No VAR check.

- Argentina was given a controversial penalty where the foul was possibly outside the box.

- The referee for Argentina vs. Netherlands was sent home. He was the only referee this tournament that Messi criticized and the only one to be sent home.

- Messi has not been fined for criticizing the referee.

- The President of PSG (who Messi plays for) is also the chairman of Qatar Sports Investments.

- For the Portugal game against Morocco, FIFA scheduled 5 Argentine players to officiate the match. (the referee, both linesmen, and 2 in the VAR room) That's 5 of 8 people. This was Ronaldo's last World Cup tournament and the game that kicked him out.

- Of the top 10 players with the most goals so far, only 1 player has scored a penalty. That player is Messi and he scored 3 of them.

- Messi was not awarded a yellow card for a blatant hand ball. He later got a yellow for another infraction. He would have been sent off if given that first yellow.

LET'S GO FRANCE!

The OWNER of PSG is the emir of Qatar himself, which means he's also the employer of Mbappé. So it's definitely not a coincidence these two teams are in the finale. However, I believe the World Cup was part of Messi's deal with PSG since it's the only prize he hasn't won yet and he's about to end his career as an international.

Sam, this blatant corruption is why I don't even watch sports events anymore, except if I want to have a good laugh.

It's amazing how many people ignore this blatant campaign to get Messi a World Cup. The thing is, if he loses the final, no one will question it any longer. How does FIFA even allow the chairman of a club and the chairman of a country's sport investments to be the same person?

reply

You mean MaFIFA.

The amount of evidence is just getting embarrassing now.

reply

It's disgusting, but I'm sure they believe they can make some money off of Messi due to him being a cult figure in countries that know nothing about football.

reply

Messi is plastered all over Universal Studios in Orlando advertising the ‘Messi Burger’ (I’m being 100% serious).

reply

Do you agree there's some sort of corruption or advantage Messi is getting?

reply

Possibly, although if you’d have predicted an Argentina v France final based purely on footballing pedigree, you wouldn’t have been laughed at.

reply

I thought Argentina was going to get knocked out in the semi-final. I didn't expect this level of corruption though. I wasn't even aware that president of PSG was the guy responsible for Qatar sports before the tournament started.

reply

The only winner in this tournament is Qatar and the FIFA hierarchy.

reply

The chairman is only a puppet of the emir who holds all the power in PSG as well has Qatar Sports Investments.

reply

None of this surprises me.

I added this on another thread.

Hassan Al Thawadi, Secretary General of the World Cup Delivery and Legacy Committee, spoke with Télam (h/t Minuto Uno) and did not hide his genuine desire to see Messi lift the trophy for Argentina.

“Seeing Messi lift the trophy in what could be his last World Cup would be something really special for us as organizers,” Al Thawadi said. “Let’s say that if Argentina and Qatar win their respective groups, the two teams could face each other at the quarter-final stage.

They're not even hiding it anymore.
