Which nation (other than yours) would you like to see progress?

Being English I'd also like to see Wales progress but just not at England’s cost! Wales have not qualified for a World Cup Since 1958, so this will be a huge great adventure for them.

I’d also like to see Canada get out of their group too, they have not been to a World Cup since 1986, and there seems to be many Canadian posters at Movie Chat, it would be fun to see them get excited over the fortunes of their nation at the WC. Canada's manager is also English!

Always liked the Dutch. To be such a small country yet consistently produce so many top class players (and reach three separate world cup finals) is a huge thing.

And this squad looks pretty tasty.

reply

I like the Dutch too, I think they’ll have a good World Cup, possibly last four.

reply

Mine (Italy) isnt there, and there are many squads i like. If i have to tell two names,Germany and Japan

reply

Not the same without Italy. At least future tournaments should always have the strong footballing nations.

reply

By the way i am noticing that the most supported team in Italy at this World Cup is Argentina. When they ask on television to someone who will they support, almost everyone says Argentina!

reply

Many from the squad play in Serie A. I wonder if an Inter Milan player will reach the final again, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan have had a player involved in every World Cup final since 1982!

reply

If the U.S. can't win it, I'd like to see England, Wales, Korea, Senegal, or Brazil victorious.

reply

Do you think the Welsh return the sentiment? For that petty reason I can't wish them well. Same for the other home nations.
I always like the Scandinavian teams after England. Just because Scandinavians are always nice folk. Hope Denmark progress.

reply

I have a little Welsh blood in me so I hope they have good tournament, I always wish the best for home nations teams at tournaments, for so long it's been England on their own, it's good to see home nation teams qualifying again.

reply

Nah. Hope West England don't get out the group. The love in already for them is cringe worthy. The commentary in the game was nauseating.

These gems from Clive tydlsley

"He writes his own script"
"Unbelievable"
"The man's a freak".

Really. Bale did nothing in the game but score a penalty. U would think he just scored the winner int he final or something.

I will take away one thing though. The American commentary i heard was hilarious. Defensive line breaks and turnovers were commonly used phrases. Oh the Americans do try bless them.

reply

The Bale worship by Clive Tyldesley was annoying, I'm sure by the end of the game he had declared himself Welsh!
