Charles getting shot and Erik running over to remove the slug
I don't understand what that serves.
It is a scary scene and shows the real depth of Erik. He is SO FOCUSED an intent to destroy the 7th Fleet and Soviet fleet....but he sees Charles shot and drops the missiles without a second thought. It's part of what makes us root for and respect and understand Magneto. He's not a one-dimensional villain.
That said the bullet is lodged in his spine, he runs over and you can see his concern, and he pulls slug out with his powers. It is scary.
Why did he do that?
Fear that leaving it in would cause more bleeding?
Hopefully removing it would prevent damage to his spine?
Or is this something out of Three Kings with the whole pockets of bile (which I never understood why was in the movie)
