Did shaw actually feel any pain?

I really loved the idea of the revenge scene with the coin. But one thing bothers me every time I watch it. Its that all we see is Xavier in severe pain and thats it. Is Shaw even feeling anything during the whole thing? Or is he just completely unconscious? The guy deserved the painful and humiliating death he got but its pointless if he didn't feel any of it.

He did not feel anything . He was completely unconscious- frozen.Xavier was holding Shaw's consciousness and bore all the pain.

Well that sucks, doesn't it? I mean the guy deserved the feel every millisecond of it.

I interpreted it as Shaw simply being frozen by Xavier, with Xavier hearing, seeing and feeling what Shaw did. Remember Xavier said it was taking everything he had to restrain Shaw, which I took as meaning Shaw was actively struggling against Xavier's control, therefore being conscious. That's just how I saw it.
