Aquariums---great places to meet guys and girls?

So there we have young Sean Cassidy (Banshee) alone in an aquarium and finds a beautiful young lady. He hits on her, but she isn't interested. Were aquariums great places for single ladies to meet guys back in the 60s? She's alone, he's alone...there are no other people present. I am not over-analyzing this just to be a troll, I am just wondering why they chose this location (movies and the characters). Maybe to show off his powers.

In a final attempt to gain her affection, Banshee uses his ability to scare away all of the fish. It doesn't work, and at this point, Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr appear, and convince Banshee to join the X-Men off screen."

I think he scared away the fish to spite the girl saying she may not want him, but neither do the fish.
