I watched part of this movie when it was just on as background noise, and I was instantly pulled in. I want to start from the beginning, but is this movie a reboot? or a continuation? Should I begin with the original X-Men?

any help would be awesome!!

It's a origin story of Prof X and Magneto and how they became friends then enemies.
You don't really need to watch the other films.
