I am sad we never got a sequel.

Yes I know we got days of future past but I felt a movie should have been made before that one. I wanted to see the fall out between raven and magneto. I wanted to see emma frost join magneto's gang. I want to see the kennedy assassination that got erik in trouble and locked up.

I know the movie I am talking about probably would not have been as profitable as x men days of future past but it would have been a lot of fun imo.

I agree. The start of Magneto's brotherhood is a whole movies worth of material that was pretty much shoved under the rug for 'ten years later' storyline. There was so much untapped potential, and Fox who has to do a movie...what? every six years to keep the rights, should have been like: 'hey! these characters we have in their prime, maybe we should hold onto this a little longer and do the DOFP story in the movie after the sequel'

It makes me wonder if it was strictly a budget decision because the first film was kind of a letdown at the box office that led them to do the leap? I feel that Matthew Vaughn may have wanted to continue down the path he was going on before Bryan Singer was like "I have an idea!"

So now once they've got Apocalypse out of the way, what next reboot? Inspired! We just did that.

And thus, the trollouroboros is born, and we are all doomed.

I felt like DOFP was just going around in circles with the series instead of moving forward. I think one of the things that disappointed me about DOFP was that it took the characterization from First Class and tossed it out. There was no reason to have Xavier down in the dumps, Magneto in prison, half of the old characters killed off-screen. The frustrating thing about DOFP is that it felt like I watched an entire movie that took our characters from point B to point A offscreen back to Point B again at the end.

I won't disagree that a lot of what happened between FC/DOFP would have been fun to see, but I liked the new story possibilities that were opened up by a time jump.

And was there even really a falling out between Mystique and Magneto between films? I thought that Mystique just struck out on her own while Magneto was imprisoned. We kind of got the falling out in DOFP, after Magneto tried to kill her, and then the confrontation when Mystique criticizes Magneto's methods.

As told in DOFP after Erik got arrest for JFK assassination the Brotherhood never thrived.

Yes, agreed... Lol

Apocalypse will be more of a direct sequel I think.

I would also like to see some of the main character's back stories like Raven before she met Charles, Beast, etc

I'm really expecting Apocalypse to be a sequel to First Class.

Now that DOFP has gone in and kind of cleaned up some confusion with the franchise, I think we can get back to the new stories.

I started a new podcast where we discuss the X-Men movie franchise. Would love to get feedback! "Have a Drink With Me" on iTunes!

Give Bryan Singer some credit,
Singer had to close up his previous X-men run(xmen and X2) while continuing Matthew Vauhgn's X-men film (First Class) in one film.

If i had $1 everytime i had no clue what was going on, id ask people why they were giving me dollars
