Why didn't Eddie just...

Text or email his evidence pictures to his former boss?

Instead he climbs an entire skyscraper and leaves his phone in his office? And then takes the elevator back down because he's afraid of jumping, and ends up having to assault (and possibly kill) 75 SWAT team members.

Did he ever get his phone back? Maybe we'll find out in the sequel.

That is no fun to see. :-}

I assume after getting fired Eddie kept badgering his former boss imploring him to hand him his job back. His boss in return grew frustrated and changed his phone+email information; blocking Eddie was certainly an option. Or, he might’ve kept receiving Eddie’s calls & messages and refused to respond/open any of them. Eddie knew he was being ignored, hence “shithead!”

So what made Eddie think that his old boss would even touch his phone? Well, he probably figured since he took to the trouble of somehow smashing into his office... lol. Could any of this actually explain this otherwise apparently simple solution? I wouldn’t rule it out. But maybe this was simply an excuse to give us a cool scene like that. If so, I approve. You want up? Hell yeah.

What if Eddie's phone was password protected? Or even worse a thumbprint or retinal scan.

Could his former boss even unlock his phone?

Imagine him showing up to work on Monday. Blood stains all over the destroyed lobby. He ignores all that and takes the elevator up to the 35th floor. Walks in and sees a crew reinstalling his shattered window.

"Must have been some storm" he thinks to himself.

He sits down with his salted caramel macchiato and opens up his emails. Eventually, he glances over and notices some random cell phone sitting on his desk.

Maybe one of the crew left it there. It's locked. He turns it into the security office thinking someone might claim it.

Nobody ever does.

His loss. In the end, Eddie doesn't even care anymore. Afterall, the evil badguy's dead anyway. So doesn't matter either way.

Really, this movie's script is on Van Damme / Steven Seagal teritory. Just a fun movie overall, nothing to worry about.

Why is his Boss 'Jack' played by Ron Cephas Jones uncredited?

And doesn't he look like Bubbles from The Wire ?
