Sony pulled A "DCEU" and Badly damaged the brand with 2 bad spider-man film in TASM and TASM2....box office for those films were Plummeting(Like DCEU films)....
Sony knew they could not go forward with "Thier Spidey Universe" or 3rd Amazing Spider-Man film....they smartly decided to immediate reboot and the stop the bleeding...It resulted in Spider-Man Homecoming, A universally loved film that immediately resorted Spider-Man to the box office draw he once was....
SPHC made 880 M+......Spider-man Far from home will probably make 900 M to 1 Billion...
Sony will stick with Marvel Studios, The results have been better than they could have dreamed of after 2 awful Amazing spiderman movies that damaged the brand....
too bad it took WB 4 out of 5 awful DCEU films to END THE DCEU and reboot....it should have been done after BvS....
and now with Venom being awful, Its not going to perform as well as expected, theres not going to be any interest in a sequel....this will only cement Sony sticking with Marvel Studios as Sony just cant get the Spiderman movies right or thier spinoffs right....
lol basically....right now at Sony...The execs are extremely disappointed that Venom turned out so awful, They know they once again screwed up trying to start a Spidey Universe, They know Venom is going to have Massive Drops after opening weekend do to Bad Word of Mouth, and Literally The ONLY thing that is bringing them any joy and comfort right now is knowing "Hey at least we made the deal with Marvel Studios, at least we got spiderman back on track and Far From Home is gonna make close to a Billion"
