the maid? They said she was a survivor from the original massacre in 1925 or whenever but where was she during the event? The Broussard woman killed herself so she wouldn't be the seventh victim but where was the maid the whole time??? Why wouldn't they have gone after her?
Also who wrote all the symbols on the wall? Was that the maid or was that the Broussard woman?

It's hinted that the maid pretty much ran up to her room & stayed there, drawing & re-drawing the symbols over & over again in order to keep the demons out. (She drew them.) As long as they were on the walls, the demons couldn't come after her.
I'm guessing that the demons had tried doing the same tricks with her, which explained why she was found drawing the symbols when people found her later on. It'd also help explain her insanity as well- who knows what they did to her while she kept drawing the symbols over & over? (I'm guessing that after Broussard hung herself, the demons tried even harder to get the maid to come out.)
