Just saw it, my review. No spoilers.

I actually enjoyed this remake way more than I thought I would. Of course, it's not a great film by any means but it perfectly captured that cheesy 80's rock n' roll, gore, and tits feel.

Shannon Elizabeth, Edward Furlong, Diora Baird, Monica Keena (despite her horrible distracting lips), John Beach, and even Bobbi Sue Luther did great and you could tell they had fun with their roles while I appreciated the cool cameos from Linnea Quigley and Tiffany Shepis.

I honestly think I dug the first 30 minutes with all the partying to the final hour of blood and gore. It was smutty fun with half naked girls dancing around and making out with each other while awesome tunes by bands like Type O'Negative and 45 Grave played. Shannon Elizabeth looked great in her goth gear while Diora Baird and Bobbi Sue Luther were sexy in their cliched cat costumes. Even though it was a little ridiculous to see actresses in their 30's play spin the bottle and act like college girls, it was a hell of a lot of fun.

And then the demons come into the mix. While there were some spooky scenarios, awesome gory effects, and an outrageous reference to the original, I feel like it wasn't executed very well. The rest of the film, although fun, felt rushed to me and I feel like the demons would have been more intimidating if they moved slower but the director and editor decided to make us feel like we were tripping on acid whenever the villains came into the mix.

I also felt there was too much back story, and something that made the original so fun is that you didn't really know why the house was possessed (unless I missed an explanation there).

Overall, this was a fun gory horror film and I kind of dig Adam Gierasch. He knows how to make a fun 80's-like gore fest and he knows his *beep* as I could tell from watching the behind the scenes footage where he makes reference to films by Argento and Fulci.

Overall - 2.5 out of 4.
