Not terrible ! ? ! ?

Not sure if that is good or bad. It was about what I was expecting and overall I gave it 6 out of 10. Now here are a few things I would have changed to make it better.

* I actually was fine with Shannon Elizabeth playing Angela. It's a different Angela from the prior three and I think she made it work with what she was given. The part I would change is make it so Angela is the main demon. Once everyone turns she seems to be at the same level as the rest of the demons. In the other series she was demanding and you had no doubt she was the leader.

* Never should have cast Monica Keena in the lead role. Diora Baird is a much better actress then Monica and she probably should have been cast in the lead role. At the beginning with Diora, Monica and Bobbi, it's obvious that Diora is so much better then the others. I also hated the one liners they kept giving to Monica as well.

* The fake Daylight scene. That was so obvious and stupid. I'm not sure how that would have tricked them. Maybe the two guys who were asleep but Monica was awake the whole time. They also didn't play like it was a slow sunrise over a period of time but all of a sudden it's as bright as noon and no one questions it??? The sun doesn't rise like a piece of toast being sprung out of a toaster.

I'm sure there were a few other things but these stuck out the most to me. Thoughts???

I agree that the film wasn't terrible. I just felt like they all just spent so much time trying to insert little homages to the original film that this one just never got a chance to get fully developed & get its own personality. I felt a little disappointed with the lipstick scene- it had potential, but it just felt like they rushed through it a little too quickly.

I also enjoyed Shannon Elizabeth as well- you can tell she had a lot of fun doing this & put her entire being into the role.

I felt the same way about the fake daylight scene, but I was willing to chalk that up to them being so delirious from being tired, stressed, & stuff.

Ultimately I felt like the weakest point of the film was Edward Furlong. Seriously, the guy walked through the film like a zombie & when he first went to the drug lord I thought the film was going to reveal that he was a junkie going to get his fix. He looked that bad & if the story had shown that he was doing some of his own product, that would have actually made a lot of sense. (It'd explain his appearance, his lack of personality, why he wasn't giving the drug lord the entire amount of money owed, etc) I also don't see where a schlub like him would have dated a girl like Maddie & still had her pining a little after him, but I was willing to believe that it was because she was just that stupid when it came to dating. The bottom line is that Furlong was easily the weakest link in the entire movie when it came to acting.

I've seen worse films, worse remakes. I agree, to me, it felt like it had potential but never fully developed. The casting was all wrong. I had no problem with Shannon Elizabeth, but Diora Baird and Michael Copon would've made much better leads, rather than the smaller roles they were given. Monica Keena is not a great actress and I spent the first 10 minutes wondering just how much botox she actually uses. She's not that old and yet her face is completely frozen. Edward Furlong? They couldn't find anyone else? He doesn't even try to act anymore. He was the scariest part of the entire movie. The fake daylight scene was obvious, especially after they'd just read the writings on the wall that said demons were tricksters. And the recreation of the lipstick scene felt somewhat rushed. To me, the weakest part of the whole thing was the demon makeup, mainly Angela's. I didn't mind the addition of the horns, but the rest... I guess I'm just partial to the original's look.
